HCMC Asian Meetup FAQ

Everything you need to know about our HCMC events.

🔐 Coming to District 1

Q1. Where exactly is Boosh 2?
Boosh 2 is a rooftop bar at 26 Do Quang Dau, in Pham Ngu Lao, District 1 — walking distance from Ben Thanh Market. Head up to the roof; the Lounge Asia group takes over the terrace.

Q2. Is it really free?
Yes. Ho Chi Minh is our only city with no entry fee at all, early booking or not. We just ask that you buy at least one drink, because the venue gives us the space on that basis.

Q3. It is a rooftop. What happens in the rain?
Saigon rain arrives fast and usually passes within the hour. Boosh 2 has covered sections and the group moves under them. If a storm looks set in for the night, check the Meetup page before you leave.

Q4. Do I need to speak Vietnamese?
Not at all. English is the shared language of the room. Locals often use the night to practise English, so you will be helping as much as being helped.

Q5. Who actually comes?
A genuine mix: Vietnamese locals, expats working in Saigon, digital nomads passing through, and travellers staying in the Pham Ngu Lao area. Recent nights have had around 35 people.

Q6. What is the easiest way to get there?
Grab is the practical answer — it is cheap in Saigon and drops you at the door. Set the destination to Boosh 2 rather than the street number, because Do Quang Dau is a small street and drivers know the bar.

🛡 Safety & Community

Q7. What are the House Rules?
We run a Zero Tolerance Policy:
🚫 No selling: no MLM, crypto pitching, or recruiting.
🚫 No harassment: this is not a pickup night.
Anyone who makes others uncomfortable is asked to leave immediately. Tell a host if anything feels off.

Q8. Who are the hosts in Saigon?
Rosie and Ken. Rosie is Vietnamese, runs a rental business, and is the person to ask about anything local — coffee, music, where to go next. Ken is Japanese and lives in Saigon for work, so he knows the newly-arrived-and-know-nobody feeling well.

Q9. Is this a dating event?
No. Friendship first. Lounge Asia is a cultural exchange and networking community, and the events are for meeting people naturally rather than pairing anyone up.
