Want more structure than a social language exchange? ACTIT’s Job Ready Program combines English study with a planned workplace-experience component. Here is what the school has described, what it costs in its latest written explanation, and what to confirm before deciding whether it fits your plans in Brisbane.
What does the programme involve?
In an email to Lounge Asia on 28 October 2026, ACTIT described eight weeks of General English followed by four weeks of work placement: 12 weeks in total. The accompanying programme guide describes English study alongside résumé writing and interview preparation.
The guide also lists a one-day barista activity and a university workshop. Ask ACTIT which activities are included in your particular offer, who delivers them and what completion documents they issue. These inclusions do not establish that ACTIT currently offers a separately bookable barista qualification.
Who should consider it?
This is an option to investigate if you want a planned period of English study and are interested in learning about a workplace. Start with the time you can commit, the English support you need and the kind of workplace experience you want to discuss.
Ask the school to assess your suitability and explain its current entry requirements, English assessment, weekly study hours and delivery location. Do not assume the programme accepts every English level or that a social-event invitation establishes course eligibility.
What are the fees?
ACTIT’s written explanation dated 28 October 2026 lists:
- Tuition: A$3,950.
- Application fee: A$200.
- Total of those two charges: A$4,150.
This is the school’s dated explanation, rather than a personalised quote. Request a current written offer showing all compulsory costs, what each charge includes, payment dates, and withdrawal and refund terms. Budget separately for accommodation, meals, transport and any other costs ACTIT identifies; A$4,150 is not a total budget for living in Brisbane.
Confirm the placement before committing
A programme description is not a confirmed placement with a particular employer. Ask ACTIT to explain the host, role, location, hours, supervision, insurance and participation requirements for your proposed dates. Confirm whether any placement would be paid or unpaid, and what happens if a suitable placement cannot be arranged.
Do not plan around the names or logos of organisations in a brochure. Ask for the arrangements that apply to you in writing. A placement is also separate from an offer of employment.
How do you apply?
Begin by asking ACTIT which start dates are available and whether the programme suits your circumstances. The guide lists January, April, July and October as usual intake months, but that is not confirmation of an available place or a specific start date.
For the direct-referral route discussed with Lounge Asia, ACTIT described this sequence: submit an application to the school; the school reviews it and issues a Letter of Offer; meet the entry requirements and make the required payment; then receive the school’s enrolment confirmation and Welcome Letter. Ask ACTIT which documents and deadlines apply to your application. Send application documents through the school’s approved process.
Want help preparing your questions?
You can email Lounge Asia to say you are interested in ACTIT’s English and work-placement programme in Brisbane. We can help you organise the questions you want to put to the school. ACTIT assesses applications and confirms current course arrangements.
Referral disclosure: ACTIT has proposed a referral arrangement under which Lounge Asia may receive a commission for eligible enrolments. The formal agreement is still being finalised.
This enquiry is optional. Joining the Lounge Asia community or booking an event does not enrol you in a course or give permission for your details to be passed to a school. Please do not email us identity documents or payment details with your initial enquiry.
If your main goal is to meet people and practise conversation socially, explore our Brisbane language-exchange guide or current Brisbane socials. Event RSVP and course enquiries are separate actions.
